The Recipe for Beautiful Hands and Strong Nails

The Recipe for Beautiful Hands and Strong Nails

Nails are a woman’s pride – how to take care of them? How to strengthen them? Supplementation, vitamin and mineral deficiency, nail care mistakes, nail diseases.

Well-cared-for hands and nails are a very important issue concerning our appearance not only at work but also in interpersonal relations. In this case, the statement that they are our pride is absolutely accurate.

There is a small number of sebaceous glands and adipose tissue on hands, therefore they can be easily affected by harmful external factors. They cause the skin of hands to become dry, chapped and red, whereas nails to become brittle.

So, what is the recipe for beautiful hands and strong nails?

  • Regular hand scrub treatment with the use of two-phase Dead Sea salt hand & body scrub will make the skin smoother and better prepared for absorption of active ingredients included in moisturizing creams, which should be applied after every hand washing. For those with very dry skin, we recommend Coenzyme Q10 Hand Serum, which helps to preserve skin’s young look and healthy color, improves its condition and flexibility, enables increase of skin’s elasticity and moisture level.
  • It’s worth to replace a metal file with a paper or glass one.
  • Black Diamond nail conditioner will strengthen the nail plate, protect it against splitting and cracking, as well as accelerate nail’s growth, giving it a nice shine.
  • Dry Oil for nails will moisturize the nail, help to speed up its growth, protect it against brittleness, nourish it and provide good regeneration.
  • Protective gloves will protect our hands from the destructive influence of detergents during clearing and washing-up.
  • In order to keep nails in a good condition, watch your diet and provide essential vitamins and minerals, such as B-group vitamins, vitamin A, biotin, folic acid, silicon, zinc, magnesium, iron, calcium and unsaturated fatty acids.

The most common nail care mistakes:

  • Removing cuticles by cutting too deep into the nail walls.
  • Using improper nail file grit – nails are sensitive to filing, so too coarse nail files may damage them.
  • Nail biting – is not only unaesthetic but also dangerous, because the nail plate gets damaged and the bacteria are transferred from our hands to our mouth.
  • Buffing nails too often may weaken them.
  • Using dirty nail tools.
  • Too long baths.

Nail diseases:

Paronychia – the symptoms appear suddenly and usually involve one nail. The nail area is red, swollen and painful. Pus may appear within the nail wall.

Nail fungus –the changes initially affect the nail tips, changing their color to yellow, brown or white. The nail bed becomes infected, which results in nail deformation. After some time, the nail becomes thickened, folded and discolored. The nail plate may brittle and detach from the nail bed (matrix).

Green nail syndrome – is caused by bacteria that spread underneath the nail plate, and resulting in  characteristic green discoloration. This type of infection exacerbates onycholysis (detachment of the nail from the nail bed) and spreads the bacteria to the rest of the area. In advanced cases of this disease, the whole nail detaches from the nail bed.
