The 8 Golden Rules for Storing Hybrid Gels
Every nail art enthusiast is proud of their nail stylization products and tries to display them as beautifully as possible. This mostly applies to hybrid gels, which please the eye with their rich colors and slender bottles, and which at the same time constitute the largest part of the collection.
However, not everyone is aware that when it comes to storing hybrid gels, a fast access and an appealing presentation aren’t the most important part, there are other factors that help to enjoy products for longer and to use them without problems.
Here’s 8 golden rules for storing hybrid gels:
- Hybrid gels like it cool.
Remember that hybrid gels should be stored as far as possible from heaters, radiators and stoves. Unless there is evidence that storing them in a refrigerator has any positive effect on the product’s formula and lifetime, it’s very likely that exposing them to too high temperatures will surely work negatively on them.
- Beware of light and humidity!
Hybrid gels cure under the influence of UV radiation, so they should be kept away from sunlight. Don’t place them on a window sill! Also, you shouldn’t store them in the bathroom because of the humidity in the room.
- Store bottles upright.
Probably many of you keep hybrid gels in a drawer or a cosmetic box, where they can only be stored on their sides, and that’s bad for them! Try to provide yourself with a cosmetic box or a container that will allow you to store hybrid gels upright – it will let you enjoy their beautiful and vivid colors for longer.
- Check the expiry date!
Always check the expiry date on the label (the required information about the expiration date on a label is always placed on the side or bottom of the bottle) before using your hybrid gel. After this date, the formula typically thickens, dries and loses its color (which is normal), so extending the cosmetic’s lifetime with various methods is a waste of time. It’s better to buy a new one (especially since Silcare offers attractive product promotions every month!).
- Shake before use.
Shaking the bottle before use prevents the hybrid gel’s formula from getting too thick. You should take this into consideration before using a color that you haven’t used in a while.
- Screw on the caps tightly!
Hybrid gels dry out faster in contact with air. That’s why it’s important to close the bottles tightly right after use – this way air won’t get inside the bottles.
- Don’t place your hybrid gels near UV lamp.
UV lamp emits radiation that cures hybrid gel not only on the nail but also in the bottle. Hence, you should make sure that your hybrid gels, base-coats and top-coats aren’t placed too close to the UV lamp while it’s working.
- Don’t overdilute!
Even though there’s a lot of many various nail polish thinners available on the market right now, you shouldn’t forget that using this substance more than once will overdilute the formula, and consequently diminish the cosmetic’s properties. Therefore, we encourage you to follow our tips, rather than use other products to save your hybrid gel.
We hope that the above given advice was helpful, and that you’ll be proud of your hybrid gel collection!
