#imstayingathome – Spring 2020 Fashion Trends
It’s finally here. Slightly capricious, sometimes still cloudy, but it’s here – spring! And what does the beginning of a new season mean? Of course, new wardrobe!
Even though we are now forced to welcome warmer days in four walls (remember – #imstayingathome!), it does not mean that we need to give up on shopping. Those of you who, despite everything, go to work every day will surely be keen to refresh your wardrobes. And those who work and learn from home will surely feel better if instead of an old winter sweater will be able to wear something new and chic!
Clothes help us express our personality and make us feel confident, and therefore, today we would like to present you a few most important trends for spring 2020. We’re certain that our post will help you welcome spring with a style! (But remember to stay safe, and go shopping online).
- Half slips – not only worn under clothes
It is another season when delicate, usually satin slip dresses reign on the catwalks. They look fantastic together with ankle boots and leather jackets, and lately there is a trend where they are being worn over smooth, one-color T-shirts – this makes the look gain not only a stylish, layered character but it also becomes more appropriate for work or college.
- Underwear – worn over clothes?!
Another ‘underclothing’ trend of this year are bras. But we are not talking about any ordinary bras here, but about bralettes, bandeau cut out mini tops, and subtle, feminine bustier corset tops. Some fashion designers bet on daring designs where they complement decorative brassieres with buttonless pantsuits, however, in this case, too, a layered look is on point – embroidered bralettes will look appealing together with a semitransparent, long-sleeved blouse, whereas a bit longer tops can be easily worn over a tight, white tee.
- Wonders out of yarn
Does a crochet hook makes you think of your grandma’s handicrafts? It turns out that our beloved grannies knew what’s good long before it even got popular! This spring, multicolored, delicate yarn clothing dazzle on the fashion shows. Starting from simple tops, through densely woven spaghetti strap dresses, and ending on trousers with fanciful patterns. This trend will be mostly valued by those who currently have plenty of time on their hands and love crafting!
- “Leather, high heels, and a bad attitude.” — Lady Gaga
Certainly, most of you has a classic, black biker jacket in a wardrobe. However, this year, the clothing brands went a step further and present us with (faux) leather in various forms and colors. Slim-fit trench coats, skirts, or even jumpsuits – the choice is great, regardless of whether we are fans of subdued or vibrant colors.
- Neon glow
Vivid limes, azure blues, pinks and electric yellows. This trend surely is perfect for the brave, nevertheless, we would like to convince those of you who aren’t too fond of neon motifs that it is worth to search for inspirations online – maybe this will tempt you to try on a small, subtle accessory in an intense color.
- Subtle pastels
But if you still do not want to look at blouses in the shade of juicy lime, then we have great news for you. Pastel colors not only have swayed our newest Flexy collection but also the catwalks. Subtle shades are a great choice if you want to add a delicate note of color to your wardrobe, and combining a few of them together in one outfit will create an interesting and trendy effect!
- Destination: Bermuda(s)
Do you remember the times when bermuda shorts were popular? We hurry to inform that those days have returned! Fashion designers recommend wearing walk shorts in a business casual style with a suit coat and waistcoat, however, they’ll also present themselves great together with a thin sweater or top.
- Short and to the point
You don’t like below-knee-length pants because you’re afraid they might make you look short? That’s no problem, because the next proposition for this season is inspired by the hotter countries! And if you’re from one of the hot regions, you know what we’re talking about. That’s it, we’re talking about mini shorts! This trend may not be the best choice at this time of the year in Poland, but taking into consideration that you’re spending most of the time at home, then there’s nothing stopping you from wearing something that uncovers more.
- Crazy 60’s
Many of you might still remember (often kitschy from today’s point of view) wallpapers in the style of the 60’s and 70’s. Circles, rectangles and other geometrical patterns, palette of warm browns, yellows and shades of orange, large, colorful floral compositions – all this found its way to the world of fashion and gains popularity on the shop windows. Patterned scarf, skirt or, for example, turtleneck sweater will be, in our opinion, a great addition that’ll enliven your wardrobe.
- Stripes, stripes and more stripes!
Do you like geometrical patterns, but you’re not into crazy circles and waves? Luckily, there’s another motif as popular – a very classic one, which is great for office. We’re talking about pants, suit jackets and shirts in thin, vertical stripes. Such pattern is not only a perfect fusion of trendiness and conservatism but it also makes the body seem slimmer!
We hope our short guide through spring trends of 2020 inspired you to wear something new to work on the nearest occasion – even if you’re on home-office!
