Grandma and grandpa are two very special people. Many of us associate them with a homely atmosphere, love, common games, delicious dinners and constant care for our well-being. In Poland, we celebrate Grandmother’s Day and Grandfather’s Day as separate holidays. Grandmother’s Day was established on January 21, 1964, when the idea of introducing this holiday first appeared in the “Kobieta i Życie” (in English: “Woman and Life”) weekly. Some time later, a decision was made to celebrate Grandfahter’s day on January 22. In nursery schools and elementary schools, school plays and ceremonial meetings are held on this occasion, children make beautiful self-made cards and decorations. Probably most of you used to make salt dough hearts, pasta necklaces or tissue paper bouquets. But what should you give your grandparents now that you have grown out of this kind of craftsmanship?
