Cat Is a Man's Best Friend!
Unlike dogs, cats are animals with a very specific character and they're certainly not the pets for everyone. They are proud, independent, curious and full of hunting instincts, which makes them similar to their wild ancestors. But what makes the whole world (and especially the whole Internet!) so crazy about them? It's probably partly about their charming appearance and innate grace, and partly... its occasional lack. Cat's curiosity about the world often leads to ridiculous situations and minor accidents — but there is nothing to worry about, after all, the cat always land on its feet!
Cat parents surely know that soft fur and fluffy paws are not the only features that make them love their whiskered four-legged friends for. The emotional bond with these animals is neither better nor worse than the relationship between a man and a dog. Naturally, this is a different kind of relationship, but we can still count on the closeness and attachment of our pet. Few realize, however, that our purring friends are able to give us much more than just affection. On the occasion of the Cat Day, February 17th, we would like to briefly introduce you to the five unknown and surprising benefits of having these pets!
- Good for the heart
Studies show that being a cat owner lowers stress levels, which in turn reduce the risk of developing various heart diseases by up to 30%!
- Good for the bones, tendons and muscles
The cat’s meow is one of the most charming and relaxing sounds in the world. Its frequency ranges from 20-140 HZ and it has been shown that the sounds of 18-35 HZ have a salutary effect on the joints after various injuries. Currently scientists are wondering how purring can be used in medicine!
- Good for sound sleep
Many studies have been conducted and they have shown that the presence of a cat in our bed makes us fall asleep faster as well as makes us sleep better — it especially relates to women. An experiment conducted by American scientists from the Mayo Clinic showed that as many as 41% of the surveyed people noticed a positive change in the quality of their sleep since they started sleeping with their pets!
- Good for the mood
Having a meowing quadruped may stimulate the human brain to produce hormones that are responsible for good mood and stress reduction!
- Good for young allergy sufferers
According to studies conducted in Maryland in 2002, children under one year of age who grew up with a cat are much less likely to develop dust or pollen allergy!
