Not Only Once in a Blue Moon – SO ROSE! SO GOLD! Powder

There are many different nail art products on the market nowadays — from gels and hybrids with particles of glitter, through transfer foils, rhinestones and stickers, to various types of glitter powders. The latter give an extremely wide range of possibilities, which is used by the manufacturers, who are constantly coming up with proposals for new shades and effects.

What types of powders are there?

Most powders consist of very finely ground, shiny particles. There are several basic types of powders:

- mirror (they cover your nails with a smooth surface that looks like a mirror)

- holo (filled with lots of holographic particles that shine in all colors of the rainbow)

- chameleon (they shine in different colors, depending on the angle of light)

- mermaid (some of the most popular powders that provide the effect of a beautiful, shiny mermaid scales)

- neon (they give the effect of intense, neon colors that will enliven any manicure)

- satin (cover the nail with elegant, sophisticated satin)

You will find all these types of glitter powders (and many more!) in our assortment.

How to apply powder

There are two basic methods of application: Rubbing in and sprinkling.

To rub the powder into the nail plate, first apply base-coat and 1-2 layers of color, but remember to cure each layer in the lamp. It is also important not to degrease the nail afterwards and not to remove the dispersion layer. Then gently apply the powder and rub it into the nail plate. Remove excess product with a brush. Afterwards, apply top-coat, cure it and wipe it with cleaner.

NOTE: Depending on the type of glitter powder, it is also possible to apply it on the so-called dry top, which has no dispersion layer. Always read the manufacturer's recommendations.

The second method consists in sprinkling the powder on the uncured top-coat. After that, cure the nail in the lamp and sweep away excess of the product with a brush. Depending on the desired effect, the manicure can be finished now or covered with another layer of top and cured it in the lamp.
