Ractivation mission, or spring foot care

21-04-2023

The long-awaited spring has finally arrived! Nature awakens to life, the sunshine makes us more energetic and willing to go for a walk. With great pleasure we hide hats, scarves, winter jackets and boots in the wardrobe. We change our clothes for lighter and more colourful ones. It is also the perfect time to take care of your body after winter, especially your feet! The skin on your feet is often exposed to unfavourable conditions. Take care of it now and prepare your feet for the upcoming summer season. Let us show you how to do it in a few simple steps.

Refreshing foot bath

The skin of the feet after winter is usually dry and thickened. It will be soothed by bathing in warm water with a soak or salt. This will help prepare the skin for further treatments. A relaxing bath will soften and facilitate the exfoliation of dead skin cells. It is worth performing it once a week for 15-20 minutes. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the water, such as tea tree (it has antiseptic and antifungal properties).

Exfoliation of dead skin

The next stage of skin care is exfoliation, which means removal of the thickened horny layer. To do this, you can use a special foot grater or a coarse-grained scrub. The skin will become smooth after the procedure, and this will facilitate better penetration of active ingredients from cosmetics into the skin.

Intensive nourishment

The skin on the feet has no sebaceous glands, which means that it needs extra moisture and nourishment from the outside. This is where various care creams come to the rescue. It is advisable to choose a cream according to your skin's needs, as there are moisturising, regenerating, refreshing and protective creams on the market. For very dry skin, it is recommended to use creams containing natural oils and urea – ingredients that will lubricate and smooth, as well as prevent cracking of the epidermis. If you are active and enjoy sports, you can choose the appropriate care for sweaty skin too.

Once your feet are properly prepared, you should also think about a pedicure. Therefore, you can visit your favourite beautician or paint your nails with hybrid gel polish at home. Well-groomed feet with beautifully painted nails will look great!
